10h30 12h00 Lesson 2 : Electrode Formulation (Bernard Lestriez). Selection of the electrode composition (binder, active additive). Role of the electrode architecture and physical properties on the electrochemical performance.

-       Slurry preparation through ball milling, measurement of rheological properties and Tape Casting of a composite electrode. Bellcore Technology, Introduction to reverse engineering.

Note that at the end of the day all participants who wish it have prepared composite electrodes.

Thursday 3st June

8h30 10h00 Lesson 1: Electrode Processing (Bernard Lestriez). Important processing parameters that have to be mastered to prepare an homogeneous, well performing electrode.

10h30 12h00 Lesson 2 : A pilot line, and making cells for in situ characterization (Tobjrn Gustafsson)

-       Electrode Preparation: punching, pressing and battery assembly (swagelock cells). Mechanical properties (scratch test) and electrical properties (measurement of the dry electrical conductivity).
