Objectives

We aim to demonstrate nanoscale effects on the physical properties (electrical, optical, magnetic) of nanowires and nanotubes synthesized mainly by the template method in our lab. These original properties can originate from classical and quantum confining effects, structural changes induced by the confined synthesis,… Different strategies have been developed to fill the nanopores of membranes (templates) : wetting, electrodeposition, chemical. Physical properties of nanowire arrays or single nanowires are investigated. After a study of nanomagnetism in magnetic nanowires and CPP (current perpendicular to the planes) giant magnetoresistance in magnetic multilayered nanowires, we recently determined the effect of nanowire diameter on electrical and optical properties of conjugated polymer based systems.
