These 2D superconductors exhibit strong spin-orbit coupling, which can render superconductivity unconventional with triplet spin pairing. This could lead to a topological superconducting state in dichalcogenide monolayers or multilayers. The aim of our project is to explore unconventional superconductivity and topological phases in heterostructures based on the stacking of transition metal dichalcogenide layers separated by magnetic or non-magnetic insulating layers. The synthesized materials will be studied by transport, tunnel spectroscopy and angle-resolved photoemission.
