Biography
Nicolas Barreau holds a Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Nantes (2001) and was granted the right to supervise doctoral students in 2010. Following his Ph.D., he completed a postdoctoral fellowship (2002–2003) at the Hahn-Meitner Institute in Berlin. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2005, CNU63 section, at the University of Nantes, where he conducted his research at the Laboratory of Materials for Photovoltaics (LAMP, Dir. John Kessler). In 2008, he joined the Institut des Matériaux de Nantes Jean Rouxel (IMN, UMR6502). His research focuses on thin-film photovoltaic conversion using chalcogenide materials (e.g., Cu(In,Ga)(Se,S)2) for applications ranging from the fabrication of tandem cells to photoelectrocatalytic conversion. He is the (co-)author of more than 200 articles (including conference proceedings) and seven Patents.
