ANR project
Realistic modeling of defects in solid-state materials with optical and electronic properties
Dates:
October 2020 – April 2024
Project coordinator:
Camille LATOUCHE (MIOPS team)
IMN staff involved:
Stéphane JOBIC
The aim of the MoRDOR project is to model the impact of point defects (vacancies, dopants, antisites, etc.) on new, optically active materials. Defect formation energies will be determined as a function of their charge states, taking into account the synthesis atmosphere. Thanks to recent developments, it will be possible to combine the energetic positioning of defects with their concentration, all with great precision. Ultimately, proposals will be made for the synthesis of materials with targeted properties depending on the nature of the defect (and their concentrations), thanks to a strong synergy with experimentalists.
