We are very pleased to welcome Romain Wernert who is joining the IMN as a CNRS Research Fellow.
After completing a doctoral dissertation atthe ICMCB andthe ICGM (L. Croguennec, D. Carlier, L. Monconduit) on the crystal chemistry of electrode materials for K-ion batteries, which he defended in 2023, Romain completed a postdoctoral fellowship atthe University of Oxford (M. Hayward) focusing on anionic intercalation chemistry for the development of new functional materials. These two experiences enabled him to acquire skills in X-ray and neutron crystallography and pair distribution function analysis, as well as in synthesis, measurement of physical properties, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy.
At IMN, as part of the ST2E team, he is joining the “Materials and Devices for Power Storage” research group led by Thierry Brousse to conduct his research in the field of exploratory crystal chemistry of oxide-type materials as well as the characterization of redox mechanisms. He will present his profile and research activities at the RS2E biannual meeting on October 13 and 14, 2026.
