Hajar Echat, a PhD student in the PMN team, received the best poster award at the Second International Symposium on Solid State Chemistry (ISSSC), held in Matsue (Shimane), Japan in December 2025.

The symposium brought together researchers from Japan, China, France, the USA, the UK, Germany, Korea, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, India, Finland, Australia, Denmark, Spain and the Netherlands, creating a dynamic and truly global scientific environment.

The conference explored the latest advances in solid-state chemistry, including new synthesis methods (high-pressure routes, thin-film growth, topochemical reactions), advanced structural and spectroscopic characterization, electronic, magnetic and optical functionalities, energy-related materials (batteries, catalysis, ionic conductors), mixed anion chemistry with anion-controlled properties, the influence of external stimuli (pressure, epitaxial deformation, temperature), as well as developments in chemical bonding and data-driven materials prediction.
