High school students in a lecture hall at Nantes Université during the Actions jeunes et sciences day.

Philippe Poizot, one of our laboratory’s professors at Nantes University, spoke to students in 1ère classes at the Jean Bodin high school in Les Ponts de Cé and the Alcide d’Orbigny high school in Bouaye on the subject of Electrical Energy, Batteries and their Environmental Impact.

He spoke at the request of Mme Boisteux and Mr. Hugues Fontaine, Inspecteur Pédagogique Régional de Physique Chimie, from the Rectorat de l’Académie de Nantes. These meetings are part of the “Chimie et Physique étonnantes pour un Grand oral percutant” program in the Académie de Nantes, a partnership between CNRS and the French Ministry of Education.

These exchanges with high school students were also part of the regional “Actions Jeunes et Sciences” project, which culminated in a day of discovery and exchange at Nantes University. These actions give young people the opportunity to carry out a scientific project throughout the school year, and to share their research at a closing event.

Many thanks to the Lycées Alcide d’Orbigny in Bouaye and Jean Bodin in Les Ponts de Cé for their warm welcome, and in particular to Physics and Chemistry teachers Anne Cheillan and Marine Le Grand for organizing these exchanges!
